Over a career that spanned more than six decades, Bob Uecker became one of the most recognizable and beloved voices in American sports. Known for his razor-sharp wit and relentless self-deprecating humor, Uecker transformed a modest career as a Major League backup catcher into an unlikely second act as a national comedian, actor, and legendary broadcaster. Bob performed stand-up comedy and became a favorite of Johnny Carson, appearing on The Tonight Show more than 100 times. Carson is quoted as calling Uecker “the funniest man I ever met” and dubbed him “Mr. Baseball.”

Filmed over the final three years of his life with remarkable access, this intimate documentary captures Uecker as he reflects on the improbable journey that carried him from the dugouts of Major League Baseball to late-night television, Hollywood, and the broadcast booth of the Milwaukee Brewers - where his voice became synonymous with summer for fans across the Midwest.

Beneath the jokes and tall tales lies a portrait of a uniquely American character whose humility, resilience, and love of the game made him far more than a punchline - he became a cultural institution.
